Flora Impact Daylilies has been in business for the past 16 years. The owners, Ricky and Cathy Jacobs, work together. Sales begins during blooming season, which is May and June. An annual sale is set for the first of June.
During July, the blooming season ends, and that's when the hard work begins. The ground is prepared and larger plants are divided and the new plant sections are then planted.
Ricky and Cathy have five children. Bryan is the oldest and was instrumental in the early part of the business. He is married to Dawn of Dawn Jacobs Photography. Beth is a student as Troy State University, majoring in Elementary Education. Amy and Kimberly, who are in high school, are involved in sports, playing both basketball and softball. Their son D.J. is in kindergarten.
